Drive-By

In the morning 
I can picture us 
in the apple trees 
Pruning bark 
for medicine
From a crooked branch
I want to announce 
something hard
Then take it all away
Look at this:
It is also true 
that we drove 
down 8 mile
an old radio station 
our make believe 
Mansion where we 
sling our future 
thru rafters 
And a koan 
about soda pop 
The sun setting in 
the windows of 
Hot Wheels Motor City
You whine like 
the folk song
To keep me from 
My inheritance:
I find a quarter 
while compulsively cleaning,
a bag of Twizzlers
With a PayDay stuck 
to the back
This is meaningful but 
I want to forget 
our plans to build a house 
To see five movies 
in one day
Because everyone's 
mad in heaven
When you're loud
Here on earth
